SpeedTiles® FAQ

the adhesive used on SpeedTiles® is very strong so once installed, they are difficult to remove withoutdamaging the underlying surface. However, a wallpaper scraper with heat is generally agood tool for removing SpeedTiles®.

Given the porous nature of stone, the use of a sealant is optional, but
highly recommended for stone tiles. Any commercial stone sealant will do.

SpeedTiles® resist temperatures of up to 88 °C (190°F). This means they can be installed behind any type of stove (gas, electric, induction).

Caution! For safety reasons, SpeedTiles® should never be exposed to a direct flame.

As with any mosaic, we recommend using an unsanded grout.

Installation

SpeedTiles® can be installed on
any clean, smooth, leveled and non-porous surfaces (e.g. primed drywall). Therefore,
they can be installed over existing tiles if those meet the criteria’s
mentioned above.

SpeedTiles® product can only be
installed on wall surfaces, not floors because of their thickness (4mm).

We strongly suggest to use a 500 to 750
ml spray bottle, fill it with water and add 1 to 2 teaspoon(s) of mild dish
soap. Spraylightlythe back of the tile before you install it and
spread the liquid on the whole surface of the tile with your hand. This will
allow you to position them easily on your wall.

If you wish to install SpeedTiles® around your fireplace, be sure to leave an edge of at least 3 inches from the firebox opening. This edge should be made of a non-conductive material.
